Background ThumbnailThis background is incredibly easy to make, but just takes about half an hour for your computer to process the rendering! The results at the end are worth waiting for though!

Blender:Render Tunnel

Blender tunnel final imageNow this is one of the few tutorials which does not use Gimp. I have always been a fan of blender, a free 3d graphics program, however its advanced nature always means there is more to learn.

The program itself is made to deal with both still frames and animations, with amazing results for all. The final image I got here used a gimp tutorial to create a tunnel. This image I however continued to make into a video spinning down the tunnel, which proved very effective.

For those of you looking for a new challenge and amazing results, you must check out this tutorial!

Abstract backgrounds

First test using tutorial

Some amazing results from this tutorial! I was amazed with what I could achieve with very little work at all.

Second test images, created by myself

However as with every tutorial the test is if you can create your own different results using the same instructions, with slight modifications, and the answer: YES!

Branded version of right image

These backgrounds I used eventually at a conference as a two part theme, which proved very effective. I found by underlaying logos the images could be personalised! To the left is the branded version of the first image. If you insert your logo just above the background then the different strokes actually slightly colourise your image.
