NHS Choices - DrTwitBot

In this second tutorial on NHS Choices feed I was challenged to use the very newest feed to create something useful. Over the last few weeks I have been intending to start a twitter project, so I decided to put the two together and form an Twitter Doctor, powered by PHP on the command line at the moment (php-cli)

So, how to create a twitter bot?

NHS Choices - The Tutorial

As with all API's the data is great, but there is always something missing! So here I'll add some tips to use, hack and improve the NHS API with user comments, user ratings and other Web 2.0 interaction that was missing! However the main part of the API is excellent and a great resource.

In this post I hope to get going some ideas on what to do with the API!

Facebook Desktop Applications

Facebook have been developing their Connect platform for a while now, and although there are a few problems with it there are some really nice results you can achieve with the official Client libraries.

As the assingment was to write a program in visual basic, that is what I've done. However looking back on it now I do think that C# may have been better for some parts due to the ability to make the code object orientated.

Graphics hardware and software rundown

After I removed the last tacky pages of this assignment, put in to please a tutor who would argue every point of my assignment until you just had to give up and put in some point grudgingly. The problem with this one is that I didn't mention Microsoft enough times. "If a product isn't made by Microsoft it doesn't exist" is the phrase which I think sums up the course.
